Garlic

Happy National Garlic Day!!!!

Garlic is not only a delicious food, but also has many medicinal purposes.  The benefits and uses for garlic have been utilized for centuries.  Here are some of the many benefits:
  • Phytochemicals in garlic are believed to provide protection against heart disease and cancer. Specifically, stomach and colorectal cancers.
  • Helps to fight off colds and flu.
  • Rids the body of toxins and make dispensing of waste much easier.
  • Helps the body fight the effects of nicotine and aging.
  • Lowers blood cholesterol levels.
  • Reduces the buildup of plaque in arteries.
  • Can be used as a treatment for acne and warts.
  • Can be used for toothaches.

And don’t forget to keep some garlic around just in case you have a run in with Dracula.  Garlic is believed to ward off evil spirits!  So it’s a win-win situation!!!  About the only bad thing you can say about it, is that it may negatively impact those close enough to smell your breath!  J  Make sure to chop or grind up garlic into a pulp.  Eating large amounts of garlic un-chopped are not as beneficial and can cause bloating and a sore stomach.

Have a WONDERFUL  weekend!!!
